I heard about this place having the best Cuban food in the Tampa area so I gave it a go. I can see why this place is beloved by the residents of Ybor, very small and tucked away with a diverse menu. Bring your readers though because the font on the menu is no bigger than 12 pt. I don’t think I enjoy Cuban sandwiches after my experience here. The pulled pork on the Cuban was very dry and made it hard to eat. I asked for extra mustard which definitely helped, there should have been more pickles for my taste. The maduros were some of the best I’ve had, very sweet and juicy. There was plenty of seating on a Saturday and the staff was very attentive and accommodating. The meal I had was less than $20 so for that value it gets 4 stars. In reality it’s more of a 3.5 IMO.

Weekend getaway to Tampa, we are from South Florida, and I have to say this place was amazing and just like being home. Typical Latin food, our food came out hot and delicious. We will definitely be back there next time. The atmosphere was great and we got to meet one of the owner, she was so nice. The Flans were so tasty, and they have lots of other types of food.

Saw this place online and figured I would give it a try. I was not disappointed! The apps are great, you have to have the fried cheese with Guava sauce, great mix of salty and sweet flavors. Also, the pork in the Cuban sandwich was seasoned in a way I have never had before (I try a LOT of Cuban sandwiches) and it was delicious and moist. I will absolutely have that sandwich again, it’s my new top Cuban. The flan is fantastic, definitely try different flavors, we had original and guava (yeah, I like guava…) and they were both amazing. The added flavor wasn’t overpowering of the flan but was definitely strong enough you could enjoy it.

Parking is a bit on the limited side…we drove to the sandy side and parked there. They did have the a/c blasting while you were waiting in line to order, so bring a sweater. The restaurant is a bit on the chilly side but refreshing. Lots to select from but a bit limited if you are vegetarian. We decided to share the veggie burger, sweet potato fries and pistachio flan. Sweet potato fries came out first, hot, crispy but a bit bland. There is salt/pepper on every table and it comes with ketchup. I’m not sure what you would flavor them with and everyone is different and let’s face it, if you are ordering fries are you watching salt/seasoning? Next up came the burger with a super soft bun and coleslaw topper… yum! We ended up taking the pistachio flan home with us. It is small for $5 but looks to be good quality and those around us seem to have been there before and raved about it!!! Seating was all kinds, singular tables, long table fir a big group and one long table facing the wall. They did have a couch and fancy chairs but it says no food/coffee while sitting there, confusing, that area takes up a quarter of the restaurant perhaps replace it with something that folks can sit in while having their coffee? Service is fast and friendly and we will be back to try the insane looking French toast.

Positively a must try and great place to have lunch. Had spring salad, Cuban pulled pork sandwich and a flan . The sandwich is well balanced, the bread was toasted warm. It is a great sandwich. The meat is a bit dry for my taste. For once I a lunch place without of hot spices on table. The flan. Well is is good. I had chocolate, a bit biased. I think I should have try the original for taste. Great place and well priced.

Holy flan! This place is a gem. Love these kinds of spots. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Started with 2 chicken empanadas, freshly fried served hot with a tender delicious cilantro-y chicken filling, had such a great fresh flavor 9/10. Next we shared a Cubano sandwich that did not disappoint! The bread was fresh and crispy on the outside and the meat was very good I loved the thin homemade pickles that provided just a little acidity, great sandwich. And last but certainly not least we tried the Coquito flan to go but as soon as we got to the car my girlfriend wanted to try a little bite and OMG it was the best flan I’ve ever had, we inhaled the rest of it and removed ourselves from the car to go back inside the shop and get a couple more flans to try!! This spot is perfect for foodies like us and it won’t be long before we’re back! Can’t recommend enough :)
